Towards the end of my book, Rosa Parks learned that the events that happened on the day of the Montgomery bus incident was a huge benefit in the future. For example, she says "I look back now and realize that since that evening on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama, we have made a lot of progress..." (Parks and Haskins, 186) . Rosa Parks describes different events that have occurred in African American history. For example, the first African American to become mayor, governor, and even president (186).
The valuable idea to take from this book is that no matter what goes on in your life or life in general whether it's good or bad, it will effect the future in some way. This book matters because it gives you the inside scoop from someones perspective and what they had to deal with and do in their life. Also, you learn new information that you maybe didn't know about inside the book. This book valuable today also. It's valuable today because it shows how bad it really was back then and even now it's still happening. A lot has changed since that time but, some of the things that happened back then are still happening. For example, racism, police brutality, protests, and many more.
